CNS400K: Revolutionary scrap shredding since 2001
When it was launched on the market in 2001, the CNS400K container shear introduced completely new methods for shredding scrap.
With the help of gravity and the horizontal movement of a hold-down device, the scrap introduced into the shear from above slides to the bottom of the shear, where it is cut off against the front wall by a horizontally moving knife carriage. With the cutting movement, the shredded scrap is pushed out from the front of the scissors.
This sequence of movements is constantly repeated so that the scissors work fully automatically and do not require an operator.
More than 65 years of experience of the Czech company ZDAS as in the manufacture of scrap processing systems were incorporated into the design of the container shear. Particular attention was paid to wear protection, availability and ease of maintenance. Over 300 “container shears” sold speak for themselves as a solid solution.
The compact and robust design with a weight of 25 t and a width of only 2,5 m allows the shears to be easily handled and transported with a hook vehicle or low-loader.
The version with a 96 kW diesel engine from Caterpillar of the latest generation ensures self-sufficient operation with a small installation space and high availability.

Advantages
Fully automatic operation, no operator necessary as no pre-compression via wing cover, excavator driver can carry out other activities during operation
Lower operating and wear costs because there are only a few moving parts and cylinders
Loading and picking up the cut scrap is possible from the same position, no complicated maneuvering of the excavator
Self-sufficient operation with integrated diesel generator
Picking up and transporting with a hook lift vehicle or low loader
Little space required compared to stationary scissors, approx. 3 x 6 m is sufficient
Cutting profiles, pipes and long material up to 10 m long possible
No assembly and foundation costs necessary for operation
No building permit as it is a mobile unit
The forces introduced into the knife carriage during the cut are always introduced centrally to the center, no tilting forces
All internal surfaces are lined with Hardox wear plates and therefore minimal wear
The scrap is fed from above and the scrap slides automatically due to the movement of the pre-compressor
The cut scrap is pushed out at the front and does not have to be removed continuously
Many years of experience with a wide variety of materials and more than 300 container shears in use
Mechanically machined guide surfaces ensure precise guidance of the hold-down device and knife carriage, without clamps
Precise adjustment of the knife gap even after many years of operation, as the sliding and guide strips are screwed and replaceable
Areas of application
Operation at scrap collection sites without a power connection
To reduce transport volume and better utilization of roll-off containers in internal logistics
As an additional unit to absorb capacity peaks on existing scrap shears
For the pretreatment of scrap on shredders
For the processing of scrap directly at the points of origin, such as demolition sites and direct delivery to the end customer
For the separate processing of non-ferrous metals, without the need for complex cleaning work on large scissors
In production facilities, as loading with a forklift or indoor crane is possible
As a cost-effective alternative to large shears when using several container shears next to each other with a scrap handling device
As a processing plant for contaminants from commercial waste that cannot be further processed in the shredder
